Large-scale public space installation in which cotton candy functions as a living, transforming material. The installation responds directly to its surroundings: wind, humidity, and temperature continuously alter the appearance of the work. Its soft, colourful aesthetic creates a sensory contrast with the industrial character of the environment.
Over time, the artwork comes to life. The airy pink clouds of sugar slowly descend, gradually revealing the Dutch skies, the lighthouse of the City Beach, and the Nieuwe Maas with its passing ships. Under the influence of changing weather conditions, the sweet sugar clouds continue to transform, allowing the artwork to increasingly merge with its surroundings. The ephemeral nature of the airy candy floss mirrors the temporary existence of the City Beach itself. Within a few months, the fluffy pink world turns into a dark, rugged landscape, and the vibrant City Beach once again gives way to the industrial harbour area.
